A globally connected organization is hiring an Import Manager to oversee international import operations, customs processes, and supplier coordination. This remote role requires 5+ years experience in import operations and strong knowledge of customs regulations.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement import strategies aligned with business objectives, supply chain requirements, and international trade regulations
- Manage end to end import operations including supplier coordination, shipment planning, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery processes
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shipment execution
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs requirements, trade laws, documentation standards, and company policies
- Review and manage import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and customs declarations
- Monitor shipment schedules, transportation costs, lead times, and delivery performance to improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, finance, warehouse, and operations teams to optimize inventory flow and import planning
- Manage relationships with logistics partners, suppliers, government authorities, and customs service providers
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, risk reduction, and supply chain efficiency
- Monitor international trade risks, regulatory changes, and market conditions affecting import operations
- Maintain accurate import records, compliance documentation, performance reports, and operational dashboards
- Prepare import performance reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in import operations, international logistics, trade compliance, supply chain management, or related roles
- 2+ years of experience managing import teams, global shipments, customs processes, or international trade operations preferred
- Strong understanding of import procedures, customs regulations, freight management, trade documentation, and international supply chain processes
- Experience with ERP systems, logistics management platforms, customs systems, supply chain tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, supplier coordination, and relationship building abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
