Position Overview
The IBM CP4I OpenShift Operations/Administrator is a systems infrastructure specialist for hybrid-cloud integration architecture.
The role administers IBM Cloud Pak for Integration on Red Hat OpenShift to support high availability and automated pipeline scaling.
Cluster and Platform Operations
- Plan, architect, install, and configure Red Hat OpenShift clusters across hybrid-cloud environments.
- Provision IBM Cloud Pak for Integration using Operator Lifecycle Managers.
- Manage IBM MQ, API Connect, App Connect, Event Streams, and Aspera through their IBM operators.
- Secure clusters with RBAC, OpenShift OAuth, Keycloak/IAM, and SSL/TLS certificate configurations.
- Architect persistent storage using software-defined storage engines.
- Schedule upgrades, security patching, and node updates with a zero-downtime objective.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Configure application performance monitoring dashboards.
- Automate multi-tenant provisioning with GitOps practices.
- Troubleshoot cluster degradation, persistent-volume failures, and pod-networking issues.
- Coordinate structured fixes during production cluster failures and microservice outages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Deep practical experience managing production-grade Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Deep practical experience administering IBM Cloud Pak for Integration components.
- Knowledge of SDN/OVN, ingress and route architectures, service meshes, network policies, and container security scanning.
- Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, message queuing, and API lifecycle architectures.
- Exceptional analytical and systemic debugging capabilities.
- High technical attention to container-density logs and compute-sizing variables.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Technical Toolkit
- Platforms and environments include Red Hat OpenShift, OKD, Kubernetes, CoreOS, IBM CP4I, IBM MQ, API Connect, App Connect, Event Streams, and DataPower.
- Scripting and command-line tools include Linux CLI, Bash, Python, OpenShift CLI, and kubectl.
- Storage and networking tools include OpenShift Data Foundation, Ceph, Portworx, CSI plugins, and AWS EBS/EFS.
- Automation and delivery tools include Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize, OLM Operators, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Tekton, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Logging, and Sysdig.
- Project management tools include Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft TFS.
Collaboration and Work Style
Maintain composure and structured focus during critical production failures or microservice outages.
Coordinate mitigation strategies to keep high-availability platforms operational.
Collaborate across remote or hybrid teams and translate infrastructure issues into deployment guidance.
Promote automation, infrastructure-as-code consistency, and strict platform compliance.
Arabic spoken and written proficiency is advantageous and preferred.
