The Opportunity
CACI is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer focused on hydrodynamics to support technical operations at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Memphis Detachment.
The role involves developing solutions for complex hydromechanical systems and interacting hands-on with testing equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions for large-scale hydromechanical systems used to test naval ship components.
- Troubleshoot electromechanical equipment, identify root causes, and propose solutions that improve system efficiency.
- Recommend equipment design changes that improve reliability, safety, and timeliness.
- Conduct quality checks and inspect equipment, buildings, systems, and plumbing to identify maintenance needs.
- Repair faulty equipment and damaged structures.
- Consult on facility limitations and specifications for test designs.
- Design testing appurtenances and rigs for mounting scale models in test sections.
- Interpret engineering designs, plans, and diagrams and provide mechanical solutions.
- Operate complex machinery and test facilities such as the Large Cavitation Channel while following safety procedures.
- Work occasional second or third shifts to support testing activities.
