Position Summary

HVAC Technician role within the hotel engineering and facilities function.

The position supports safe, efficient, and reliable operation of HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and related mechanical systems.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, filters, and coils.
  • Test and record boiler, condenser, and open or closed loop system water quality and take corrective action when needed.
  • Operate valves and controls to regulate boiler water, combustion air, and burner fuel flow.
  • Carry out minor plumbing and mechanical work for HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Monitor HVAC plant equipment, BMS terminals and outstations, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters.
  • Document work performed and spare parts used.

Operations and Coordination

  • Maintain the engineering area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition and coordinate with other engineering staff.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training.
  • Support energy conservation initiatives, including reducing electricity and air-conditioning use after meetings.
  • Serve as an active member of the hotel emergency response team.
  • Carry out additional assignments from the immediate supervisor or Director of Engineering as business demands.

Safety and Standards

  • Complete safety and fire training and follow safety instructions to prevent accidents.
  • Comply with hotel and corporate LSOPs and SOPs.
  • Maintain high standards for GSS, brand standards, guest rooms, and related areas.
  • Maintain a high level of hospitality and guest concern while supporting hotel guests.
