Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and components (air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation systems, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and testing devices
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot system failures in a timely manner
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and company standards
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding system issues and recommended solutions
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship
- Valid HVAC certification (EPA Section 608 required; additional certifications may apply)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (typically up to 50–75 lbs) and work in confined or elevated spaces
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) or smart HVAC controls
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Additional certifications (NATE, OSHA, etc.)
- Basic computer or mobile device proficiency for digital work orders and reporting
