About the Role
The HR Manager will own employee relations and performance management across India, the Philippines, and South Africa.
The role provides HR support to managers and serves as the primary HR resource for complex employee matters across a diverse international workforce.
The role focuses on manager capability, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, and organizational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary processes, and employee cases across Mumbai, Manila, and Cape Town.
- Advise and coach frontline managers on policy, performance, attendance, conduct, workplace concerns, and employee issues.
- Build trusted relationships with employees and leaders while modeling professionalism.
- Manage accommodation requests, attendance concerns, grievances, complaints, and related documentation and follow-through.
- Ensure probation, performance management, investigation, and disciplinary processes are completed consistently and on time.
- Monitor regional employee relations and performance management trends and recommend practical interventions.
- Escalate significant legal, financial, reputational, or organizational risks promptly.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR Manager role with significant employee relations and performance management responsibility in India.
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed or international teams is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of South African and Filipino employment legislation is not required, but willingness to learn local requirements is essential.
- Exceptional knowledge of Mumbai employment laws, labour standards, and HR best practices is required.
- Experience independently managing complex employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary processes, accommodations, attendance concerns, and performance issues is required.
- Ability to make objective recommendations while maintaining fairness, consistency, and alignment with policies and business objectives.
- Confidence, resilience, sound judgment, and strong coaching and influencing skills are required.
