Role Overview
This is a leadership role responsible for managing an established HR team.
The role focuses on HR strategy, structure, and departmental performance rather than day-to-day administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the HR department and team.
- Design and implement HR strategies, policies, systems, and procedures.
- Advise senior management on workforce planning, organisational structure, and manpower requirements.
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary processes.
- Strengthen employee engagement, retention, training, and succession planning.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll controls.
- Benchmark salaries, benefits, and policies against UAE and regional markets.
- Monitor labour market and employment trends and turn findings into practical improvements.
- Evaluate and implement HRMS, digital records, and automated workflows.
- Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law and internal company policies.
- Establish HR KPIs and provide regular management reporting.
- Improve HR efficiency, accountability, and service quality.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 4 years in management or leadership.
- Proven track record of building and managing an HR team.
- Strong command of employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and HR strategy.
- Hands-on experience with market benchmarking, HR data, and evidence-based policy development.
- Shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or maritime experience is a strong advantage.
- Experience with operational, multi-site workforce structures is highly regarded.
- UAE experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
