Human Resources Generalist I - Labor Relations & Training

This position serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers for assigned departments. Additionally, this position specializes and administers specific Human Resource operations for the city including employee and labor relations, training, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), investigations, performance management, and records. Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences, and reports major activities to management through conferences and reports. Must exhibit and work confidentially and discreetly in all matters pertaining to the city, human resources, and employee matters. This position is exempt. Fair Labor Standard Act overtime provisions will not apply. Per Florida Statute 295.065, certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, receive preference and priority, and that certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, in employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled.
