Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Relationship Management, the Human Resources Associate partners with HR Relationship Managers to support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of HR initiatives aligned with CIBC Mellon’s corporate goals and people strategy. The role provides operational and program support across a broad range of Human Resources activities, including talent management, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, employee lifecycle administration, reporting and analytics, and policy maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with HR Relationship Managers to support business groups across CIBC Mellon by identifying, coordinating, and implementing practical HR solutions that align with business objectives and people priorities. • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, people managers, and HR stakeholders in support of HR initiatives. • Provide support to HR Relationship Managers on HR programs and initiatives, including employee experience surveys and year-end performance process. • Administer and track employee lifecycle changes and activities, including work authorization, leaves of absence, flexible work arrangements, role changes, and other workforce administration processes by maintaining records, coordinating communications, tracking key milestones and preparing documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legislative requirements. • Manage the employee departure process, including exit interview and exit survey processes, collecting employee feedback, supporting the preparation of dashboards, analyzing exit data, identifying trends, and recommending actions to support retention strategies. • Prepare and analyze HR reports and dashboards, identify trends, provide insights, and support data-driven decision making related to workforce and employee experience initiatives. • Research HR trends and best practices and support the enhancement and implementation of HR programs and processes. • Create, revise, and maintain HR policies, procedures, templates, and related documentation, to ensure alignment with business needs, internal standards, and legislative requirements. • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, and with corporate and departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field; CHRP is an asset. • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience supporting HR programs, employee lifecycle activities, reporting, and policy administration. • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including provincial Employment Standards Acts, Health and Safety Acts, and Human Rights Code. • Experience with employee engagement initiatives, departure processes, leave administration, and HR documentation. • Demonstrated analytical, reporting, and process improvement skills. • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize work effectively. • Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder coordination skills. • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems.

Job Specific Competencies:
- The salary band for this position ranges between $60,000 - $91,000. - Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training, and internal equity. - Please note, our recruitment process may include the use of AI-assisted tools. - This posting is for an existing vacancy.
