This position serves as the overall Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) focal point for assigned Trading & Supply assets.
The role supports operations and engineering teams in implementing and sustaining agreed-upon operational HSSE targets, priorities, and associated projects.
Also, will help drive Human Performance, a Learner Mindset, Psychological Safety, as well as Engagement and Coaching Skills for both Shell and Contractor Partners.
The successful candidate will play a key role in frontline work execution and will help create and embed a culture built on trust and learning while leveraging strong foundational leadership skills.
This role can be based in any of the following locations: Providence, Rhode Island; Long Island, New York; or New Haven, Connecticut, and requires 25% travel across the Northeast and Midwest asset network.

What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, HSSE, or a related field is preferred
At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in HSSE within the oil and gas industry
OSHA certification or any safety-related certification is a plus
Must be willing to travel a minimum of 25% of the time
Technical understanding of hazard identification, consequence, and risk assessment models
Ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved HSSE performance
Familiarity with the Project Delivery Framework and practical application of the HSSE & SP Control Framework
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $103,000 - $ 155,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
