Job summary
The HSE Officer supports execution of safety practices and procedures to maintain a safe working environment on projects.
The role covers HSE plan implementation, task analysis, hazard and risk evaluation, control recommendations, incident investigation and training.
Workplace
- The role monitors project and site activities and supports field-location emergency response and evacuation procedures.
- The position requires regular site presence, inspections, inductions and toolbox talks before work deployment.
Job responsibilities
- Monitor project HSE activities against the project HSE plan and HSEMS requirements.
- Develop or support emergency response procedures and evacuation plans for field locations.
- Deliver HSE training covering incident prevention, first aid, safety awareness and related topics.
- Identify hazards and unsafe practices, raise observation reports and record corrective actions.
- Prepare HSE performance data and daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Conduct accident reporting orientations and daily toolbox talks.
- Ensure employee, visitor, supplier and project personnel inductions are completed and logged.
- Ensure written risk assessments are prepared for each task and communicated to personnel.
- Inspect mobile plant, gears, harnesses, fire extinguishers, ladders, tools, machinery and other equipment.
- Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness activities, incident reporting and resolution under company and IMS policies.
Job knowledge and skills
- Understand HSE regulations and standards and support compliance with applicable laws.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses and develop mitigation strategies.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver HSE training for employees, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Communicate HSE policies, procedures and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- ERP knowledge is required; SAP functional skills are mentioned as preferable and required in different parts of the source.
Experience
- Minimum five years of working experience, including three years of relevant experience.
- Two years of GCC experience is a plus.
Education and certifications
- Education is listed as a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an Engineering Diploma in NEBOSH or another related technical certificate.
