Overview

Parsons Corporation is seeking an HSE Engineer to support project operations by implementing SH&E programs, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and client HSE requirements.

The role involves auditing project sites, identifying hazards, and providing technical expertise to control and eliminate associated SH&E risks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project or program manager in implementing and administering the site-specific SH&E programs.
  • Conduct audits of project sites to ensure compliance with Parsons’ corporate standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect worksites to identify hazards and provide technical expertise to control and eliminate associated SH&E risks.
  • Prepare and submit detailed written reports for audits, inspections, and site observations.
  • Monitor work planning and operational performance to verify alignment with Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP).
  • Implement Parsons’ occupational injury, incident reporting, and case management procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and update SH&E training records in accordance with project and corporate requirements.
  • Participate in daily and routine safe work briefings with project teams.
  • Perform additional SH&E-related duties as assigned by the SH&E Manager or project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety, health, and environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.
  • 12+ years of relevant Health & Safety experience within construction or infrastructure projects especially roads and utilities projects.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state SH&E regulations, reporting procedures, and local legislation.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal capability.
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification (desired).
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risk trends and propose corrective measures.
