Lead HS&E across a major rail infrastructure project as a senior-level health, safety and environment manager.
Report to the Project Director and provide strategic, hands-on leadership across the project environment.

Responsibilities
- Support the project leadership team in implementing HS&E efforts and improving HSE service delivery.
- Coordinate workshops, lessons-learned reviews and continuous-improvement actions across project phases.
- Manage HS&E professionals and oversee contractor compliance, RAMS and permits to work.
- Audit, monitor and report project and design-build contractor HSE performance.
- Maintain HSE systems, policies, plans, procedures and emergency operating documentation.
- Assess hazards and risks, prepare safe systems of work, and ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
- Lead non-conformity, serious incident and accident investigations and follow up corrective actions.
Required skills and experience
- At least 15 years of experience on a heavy civil engineering project.
- Experience leading a team of HS&E professionals.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, IRCA or equivalent qualification and Registered Lead Auditor experience.
- Ability to work in a highly pressurized, fast-paced environment and build relationships across organizational levels.
- Effective communication skills, including persuasive presentations to small and large audiences.
Desired qualifications and experience
- Experience on metro, rail or related projects.
- Experience on tunneling projects.
- A suitable environmental management qualification.
