Qualifications & Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in environmental, health and safety, manufacturing, training, plant administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, hazardous materials, safety programs, and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with PSM, HAZWOPER, DOT, SDS management, incident investigation, and contractor safety is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook/email, PowerPoint, and related computer systems.
• Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft is preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly and retain detailed information regarding company processes, customers, products, regulations, and systems.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, communicate verbally, hear, and smell.
• Frequently required to climb and balance.
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds .
• Must have adequate close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and other manufacturing-related conditions.
• May occasionally work outdoors and be exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Regular, consistent physical attendance is an essential function of the position.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain current records, certifications, permits, inspections, training documentation, and regulatory files.
• Interface with external vendors, contractors, regulatory agencies, corporate personnel, and service providers.
• Support management in developing and implementing policies and programs addressing safety trends and operational risks.
• Monitor safety and environmental performance metrics and provide regular reports to plant and corporate management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or designated management.
