Role overview
Abbott is seeking an HR Business Partner for its Dundee site within the Business Human Resources department.
The role operates in a dynamic manufacturing environment and supports multiple internal client groups across the employee lifecycle.
Business partnering
- Build relationships with managers across multiple departments and support the business.
- Provide expert HR advice aligned with business and divisional or corporate objectives.
- Recommend and implement HR interventions that support business strategy and organisational effectiveness.
- Share data, insights, and information to support decision-making and problem-solving.
Employee lifecycle and relations
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, development, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Support workforce planning, talent management reviews, and succession planning strategies.
- Ensure a positive and consistent employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Manage complex employee relations cases in compliance with UK employment law and company policies.
- Coach and support line managers in managing people topics effectively and consistently.
Talent and development
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, and other HR functions to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent.
- Identify training and development needs and support learning and development initiatives.
- Promote internal mobility and career development through career pathways.
- Support initiatives that enhance employee development and organisational capability.
Change and projects
- Partner with business leaders on organisational change initiatives, including restructures and cultural transformation programmes.
- Lead or contribute to UK and regional HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and analyse data to support business cases and proposed organisational changes.
Data and compliance
- Analyse HR metrics and people data to inform decisions and identify workforce trends.
- Ensure HR practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate HR records and support compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Required qualifications and skills
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- HR experience covering talent management, performance management, organisational design, development, employee relations, and compensation.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
Workplace and schedule
- The position is based at Abbott's Dundee site.
- Travel is listed as 5% of the time.
- The role uses a keyboard for at least 50% of the workday.
