Housekeeping Supervisor

Position summary

Housekeeping operations

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and pool areas after cleaning.
• Run sold-room reports, verify room status, identify discrepancies, prioritize cleaning, and update departing-room status.
• Prepare and communicate room-assignment changes and coordinate Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
• Document and resolve discrepant-room issues and communicate unresolved issues to the next shift.
• Complete required paperwork and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Team and guest service

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and respond professionally.
• Maintain positive working relationships and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.

Workplace and physical requirements

• The role is performed in a hotel environment and requires standing, sitting, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
• The employee must handle objects up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier objects with assistance.
• The employee must push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
• The role requires fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to read information in varied formats.

Operational expectations

• Follow company, safety, and security policies and report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete safety training and certifications, maintain a clean professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.
• Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
