Overview
- The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all assigned areas.
- The supervisor will lead, train, and monitor housekeeping staff to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, guests, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Inspect work quality and ensure compliance with hospital/hotel hygiene and infection control standards.
- Prepare duty rosters and assign tasks to housekeeping staff for day/night shifts.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and linen. Raise purchase requests when needed.
- Train new staff on cleaning procedures, chemical usage, and safety protocols.
- Conduct briefings before each shift and address staff concerns.
- Handle complaints from departments/sisters and take corrective action immediately.
- Maintain discipline and ensure staff follow rules.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Follow waste management protocols including biomedical and general waste.
- Report maintenance issues like plumbing, electrical, or equipment faults.
- Maintain records of attendance, leave, cleaning checklists, and incidents.
