Housekeeping Aide - SEIU Service

POSITION SUMMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)

• 1. Perform all general housekeeping / laundry duties as required.
• 2. Deep cleaning and disinfecting of requested areas or rooms as required.
• 3. Deliver and distribute personal clothing to resident rooms.
• 4. Pick up and deliver exchange linen/personals carts and soiled bins.
• 5. Assist with waste management processes.
• 6. Assists with orientation of new staff.
• 7. Assumes an active role in the infection control program in accordance with the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC).
• 8. Upon request, assist in the implementation of quality management mechanismssuch as home audits (e.g., resident home area).
• 9. Participate in committees as required.
• 10. Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, committee meetings, workshops etc. as directed by immediate Supervisor.
• 11. Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of resident safety principles and practices into all day to day activities. Follows all safe work practices and procedures and immediately communicates any activity or action whichmay constitute a risk to resident safety.
