Housekeeper

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces. • Clean and disinfect resident apartments, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas according to established schedules. • Change bed linens, make beds, and replenish towels and supplies as needed. • Safely operate housekeeping equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor machines) and report any malfunctions. • Properly handle, label, and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety standards. • Assist with laundry services as required, including washing, drying, folding, and distribution. • Remove trash and recyclables from resident apartments and community areas. • Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the supervisor. • Adhere to infection control, safety, and sanitation policies at all times. • Support special cleaning projects and community events as assigned. • Respond promptly and effectively to resident, staff, or visitor housekeeping requests or concerns. • Uphold Wingate’s “Five Star” customer service approach in every aspect of the job. • Required to perform duties efficiently in order to accomplish tasks in allotted time. • Attend in-service educational programs. • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. • Understand facility’s fire and diaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies. • Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct. • Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Position Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous housekeeping experience preferred, ideally in healthcare, hospitality, or senior living. • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and infection control practices. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong attention to detail and time management skills. • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents and staff.
