Role Description

The Hospital Purchasing Officer coordinates and executes procurement of medical equipment, supplies, and services for hospital operations.

The role is full-time and on-site at Gaelan Hospital in Sharjah.

Responsibilities

  • Review purchase requests and identify reliable vendors.
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
  • Ensure timely delivery of ordered items.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate purchasing records.
  • Verify compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to understand needs and resolve supply issues.
  • Optimize purchasing costs without compromising quality.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospital or healthcare procurement, including vendor sourcing, quotation management, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong skills in inventory control, materials management, and basic supply chain coordination.
  • Proficiency with purchasing or ERP systems, spreadsheets, and general office software.
  • Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment categories, and relevant healthcare regulatory or quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams, handle multiple priorities, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinic purchasing role is highly beneficial.
