Desert Group is seeking an experienced Horticulturist to oversee nursery production and landscape plant maintenance in Dubai. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related field and 1-2 years of experience in nursery production and landscape maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and manage daily nursery production and plant maintenance activities
- Oversee plant propagation through seeds, cuttings, grafting, and other propagation methods
- Monitor plant growth and implement best horticultural practices to achieve optimum plant quality
- Develop and monitor irrigation schedules and fertilization programs
- Diagnose and control plant pests, diseases, and weeds using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices
- Supervise pruning, transplanting, re potting, staking, and general plant care
- Monitor soil conditions, growing media, and plant nutrition to ensure healthy growth
- Prepare seasonal production and maintenance plans based on operational requirements
- Conduct regular inspections of nursery stock and landscape areas to assess plant health
- Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance activities, plant inventory, and chemical applications
- Train and guide production and maintenance teams on horticultural best practices and safe work procedures
- Coordinate with operations and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field
- Minimum 1 2 years of experience in horticulture, covering both nursery production and landscape maintenance
- Strong knowledge of plant propagation, irrigation systems, soil science, fertilizers, plant nutrition, and ornamental horticulture
- Experience in maintaining trees, shrubs, palms, ground covers, seasonal plants, and turf
- Good understanding of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and plant disease control
- Ability to plan and manage production schedules and landscape maintenance programs
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with nursery or landscape management systems is an advantage
