Job Overview

  • We are looking for an experienced High Voltage & EV/HEV Technician to join our automotive service team in Qatar.
  • The successful candidate must have hands on experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), and Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), with strong knowledge of automotive high voltage systems and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Perform fault diagnosis on high voltage systems, including high voltage batteries and battery management systems (BMS), electric motors and drive units, inverters and converters, on board chargers and DC/DC converters, high voltage wiring, connectors, and related components.
  • Perform safe isolation, de energization, and reactivation of high voltage systems.
  • Use diagnostic scanners, multimeters, insulation testers, and other specialized EV diagnostic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, CAN communication, and charging system faults.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, diagnostic data, and fault codes.
  • Carry out battery inspections, module level diagnosis, and repairs where technically permitted.
  • Follow all high voltage safety procedures and workshop standards.
  • Support general electrical and diagnostic work on modern passenger vehicles when required.
  • Maintain accurate repair records and report technical findings clearly.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands on automotive technical experience, with proven experience working on EV, HEV, or PHEV vehicles.
  • Strong practical knowledge of automotive high voltage systems.
  • Ability to safely work on systems of 400V and 800V architectures.
  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with OEM or professional diagnostic equipment.
  • Good understanding of CAN Bus systems, automotive electronics, and electrical schematics.
  • High voltage safety training or certification is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with Chinese, European, Japanese, or Korean EV brands is an advantage.
  • Technical diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • GCC experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with certifications or training in EV/HEV high voltage systems, Level 3 or Level 4 EV qualifications, OEM EV technical training, or equivalent internationally recognized certification will be given preference.
