The co-op student assigned to Information Technology will be participating in a co-op program formalized between the Town of Caledon and area school board(s) or other educational institutions with a focus on Information Technology.
This program has been designed to assist students to satisfy graduation requirements by attaining hands-on work experience through a co-op placement. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a co-op program through an accredited educational institution.
In this role, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Support the End User computing staff to deploy computers and phones to users.
Support the Helpdesk staff (Acting as point of contact for phone calls and email for staff regarding IT issues and queries).
Receiving, logging and managing calls from internal staff via telephone and email, including escalating unresolved calls to the IT support team.
Troubleshoot basic IT related problems, including computers, mobile phones, printers, and network connectivity, both remotely and in-person.
Follow and update existing documentation of IT processes, as well as create new documentation where none currently exists in collaboration with other IT staff to enable consistent results.
Assist with Records Management
Assist in organizing and scheduling training sessions
Inventory of supplies, equipment
Assist with Special Events (logistical arrangements, promotion, on-site support)
We are seeking a passionate professional:
Enrolled full time in an accredited secondary institution
Currently enrolled in a co-op credit course
Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and Teams at a minimum.
