What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post-qualification experience in derivatives or financial instruments accounting, ideally within the energy, utilities or commodities sector;
- Proven hands-on experience of IFRS 9 hedge accounting, including hedge designation and documentation, effectiveness testing, cash flow hedges, and accounting for OCI reserves;
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and IFRS 7, including fair value measurement, financial instrument disclosures, own-use exemption, and fair value option elections;
- Experience accounting for and reporting on derivative financial instruments, with a good understanding of products such as PPAs, forwards, and power contracts, and their treatment under IFRS 9.
