Job Overview

  • The Heavy Trucks Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting heavy trucks and equipment, diagnosing mechanical and technical faults, supervising maintenance activities, directing technicians during repair work, monitoring maintenance work orders through the maintenance management system, and

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect heavy trucks and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Diagnose failures and determine the appropriate repair methods.
  • Assign and supervise maintenance and repair tasks for technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians throughout the repair process.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance work orders through the CMMS/ERP system, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
  • Verify that all maintenance activities comply with manufacturer specifications and company maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct final inspections and functional tests before releasing vehicles and equipment back to operation.
  • Ensure the quality of completed repairs and minimize repeat failures and rework.
  • Coordinate with the Parts/Warehouse team to ensure the availability of required spare parts and materials.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy truck or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Experience supervising maintenance technicians and workshop activities.
  • Hands on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of heavy truck mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Leadership and team supervision abilities.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Good computer skills and experience with maintenance management software.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
