Heavy Equipment Technician

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, routine maintenance, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, repair, and replace parts for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to prioritize work orders.
• Keep the workspace organized and use tools and diagnostic equipment responsibly.
• Support continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment or vehicle technician is required, ideally in construction, industrial, or fleet environments.
• Strong skills in heavy equipment handling, equipment maintenance, equipment repair, and vehicle maintenance are required.
• Candidates must be able to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, manufacturer service guidelines, and diagnostic tools is required.
• Candidates must be able to read technical manuals, interpret schematics, and maintain clear maintenance documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and time management are required, along with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• A relevant technical diploma or certification is preferred.
