Now, we’re looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator – Excavator to join our team and help deliver the projects that shape communities.

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll be at the heart of our field operations.

Your safe and precise operation of excavators and other equipment will keep projects on track and uphold the safety-first culture that defines MacKay.

You’ll support your team by bringing technical skill, situational awareness, and a strong work ethic to every shift.

• Operate excavators and other equipment (loaders, dozers, graders, haul trucks) safely and effectively
• Perform work in compliance with MacKay policies and provincial/federal health and safety legislation
• Operate in busy environments with full awareness of surroundings and potential hazards
• Follow directions and non-verbal signals from site supervisors, operators, and ground crews
• Conduct daily mechanical inspections, complete logbooks, perform minor servicing, and maintain housekeeping of equipment
• Clean tracks and equipment at the end of each shift
• Identify existing or potential hazards through field-level hazard assessments and communicate them appropriately
• Complete and submit daily FLHAs and timecards
• Support the team with flexibility in shifts and hours as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
