Position Overview
Maintain and repair roads, streets, curbs, surface mats, membranes, drainage structures, and other improved areas on a government contract military installation.
Use appropriate paving, surfacing, grading, and erosion-control procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Select and operate construction equipment to finish grade, level, slope, and compact materials.
- Interpret construction drawings and surveys using subgrade contours and grade alignment.
- Investigate work sites, determine resources, plan and estimate jobs, coordinate with civil engineering and base agencies, and inspect work.
- Maintain graded and graveled roads, acreage, open ditches, drainage, foundations, and slabs on grade.
- Perform or support chain link fence construction and repair.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least five years of recent heavy equipment experience in military or commercial applications.
- Experience performing or supervising construction equipment operation for roads, grounds, concrete, soil stabilization, and pavement work.
- At least one listed equipment qualification or chain link fence construction and repair experience.
- Basic computer operation skills and ability to interpret technical manuals, publications, and safety rules.
