Position Overview
The Cleaner works under the supervision of a Custodial Manager or Supervisor.
The role performs custodial duties according to established company standards, instructions, and procedures.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, walls, bathrooms, and other building surfaces.
- Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, shampoo machines, and attachments.
- Collect trash, replace liners, restock bathroom supplies, and report building defects.
- Perform periodic high dusting, polishing, wall washing, and snow removal from entrances and walkways.
- Perform other custodial duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for the basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Must take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack vacuum cleaner.
- Requires attention to detail, organization, service quality, energy, and endurance.
Compensation
- Compensation depends on collective bargaining coverage, geographic area, market pay rates, experience, and qualifications.
