of the Role
The Head Pack Operator runs the day-to-day work that keeps orders moving opening and closing orders in X4 and SAP, building products to customer specifications, inspecting every part for quality, and executing the production schedule to rate.
You will operate a remote crane, hang and set PSA and PP film layers from the mezzanine, keep a clean and organized 5S work area, and communicate best practices to teammates while helping document and improve current processes.
What We Are Looking For!
• Open and close production orders in X4 and SAP.
• Read and understand customer specifications per the Pack-Cat and build product accordingly.
• Inspect parts for correct thickness; ensure the correct glue type, ABA and glue uniformity, and confirm mag is applied where applicable.
• Operate the remote crane safely and in accordance with training.
• Hang and set layers (PSA and PP film), including climbing a ladder to the mezzanine.
• Deliver zero quality escapes with high attention to detail check product for defects, damage or errors before it moves on.
• Maintain zero safety incidents; quickly escalate any safety incident or near-miss, regardless of severity.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; complete 5S processes within daily operations and look for opportunities to improve.
• Serve all team members listen, understand and resolve issues at the lowest level; escalate when assistance is needed.
• Share communication and best practices with teammates; help document and improve current processes.
• Bring a positive attitude and growth mindset to continuous improvement.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor, Leads or Management.
What You Will Bring!
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good oral and written communication skills and solid math skills.
• Proven good attendance and safety records.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts, including long periods of standing.
• Ability to climb a ladder to the mezzanine and work at height with appropriate fall protection.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment that can be cold or hot and, at times, noisy and/or dusty; standard PPE required on the production floor.
• Crane operation experience is a plus; training is provided.
