Role Description
The Head of Technology is a part-time, remote role responsible for the company’s technology vision, strategy, and execution.
The role leads distributed engineering and IT teams, supports stable and secure operations, and aligns technology initiatives with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor distributed engineering and IT teams.
- Manage infrastructure planning and evaluate and implement tools and platforms.
- Establish best practices for software development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritise technology investments and manage risk.
- Monitor performance metrics and set standards for security, compliance, and reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement in technology processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Strong information technology background with broad understanding of applications, systems, and security.
- Experience in IT management and IT operations, including leading distributed teams and managing daily technical activities.
- Ability to define and implement IT strategy aligned with business goals and growth plans.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure design, cloud services, networking, and system scalability.
- Leadership, coaching, communication, stakeholder management, organisational, and time management skills.
- Experience working in remote or globally distributed environments.
- Familiarity with modern development practices, DevOps, cybersecurity principles, and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- An advanced degree or certifications such as ITIL, AWS, or Azure are a plus.
