Head of Technology

The Head of Technology will lead the organization’s overall technology vision and ensure that systems and tools effectively support advocacy, operations, and communications.

This part-time, remote role involves overseeing IT infrastructure, guiding IT strategy, and managing day-to-day IT operations to maintain secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.

The Head of Technology will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with organizational goals, improve digital workflows, and support staff and volunteers with technology training and troubleshooting.

The role may also include developing technology roadmaps, driving continuous improvement, and identifying innovative solutions that advance the mission.

• Broad Information Technology experience, including system administration, software tools, and security best practices.
• Demonstrated IT Management skills, such as vendor coordination, budgeting, and overseeing technology projects.
• Hands-on IT Operations experience, including monitoring systems, resolving technical issues, and supporting end users.
• Ability to develop and execute IT Strategy that aligns technology initiatives with organizational goals and growth.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure design and maintenance, including cloud services, networks, and data storage.
• Experience leading technology in a nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organization is beneficial.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a part-time role.
• Relevant education or certifications in information technology, computer science, or related fields are an advantage.
