About the Role
Xata is seeking a Head of Product to build the product function from the ground up for its Postgres infrastructure platform. You will own product strategy, roadmap, and execution, working closely with engineering and founders to define the agentic Postgres category.

Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and roadmap for the Xata platform end to end
- Establish the product function: practices, rituals, and feedback loops connecting customers to shipped features
- Talk to developers, platform teams, and AI native companies constantly and translate learnings into roadmap
- Partner with Backend and Frontend teams to scope, prioritize, and ship
- Own product documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy
- Define packaging, positioning, and pricing for database branching, storage, replication, lifecycle management, and orchestration
- Drive adoption of open source projects and platform features
- Set and track metrics (activation, retention, expansion) to steer decisions
- Work closely with founders on company strategy, GTM, and positioning
- Hire and grow the product team as the function scales
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a product leader for technical, developer facing, or infrastructure products
- Deeply technical and credible with engineers, comfortable discussing databases, APIs, distributed systems, and developer workflows
- Track record of taking products from early traction to scale
- Strong customer instincts and ability to do discovery work independently
- Excellent written communication and ability to work asynchronously in a remote environment
- Comfortable being the first and only product person, building the function from scratch
