Role Overview
Lead the export controls and trade compliance function for a software and systems integration business operating in a complex regulated environment.
The role is a senior, highly autonomous position with responsibility for the organisation’s export controls framework.
The position provides specialist advice across international business activities, controlled technology and information, and cross-border transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead export controls and trade compliance policies, procedures, governance, and internal controls.
- Act as the subject matter expert and advise senior leaders and business teams on regulatory obligations and risks.
- Oversee export licence applications, approvals, conditions, and ongoing licence management.
- Advise on Australian, U.S., European, and other international export control and sanctions regimes.
- Lead compliance reviews, investigations, remediation, regulator liaison, and export control training.
- Support business development, bids, programmes, projects, production, sustainment, and international transfers.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small specialist team and maintain cross-functional relationships.
