The role sets technical direction, leads the team, remains hands-on in code, and works with management on product priorities.

The role is approximately evenly split between leadership and individual contribution.

Set architecture and technical direction across the monorepo, web application, and supporting services.
Manage, mentor, review, hire, and develop engineers.
Ship code and handle complex migrations and production incidents.
Set standards for practical AI coding tool adoption without reducing correctness, security, or maintainability.
Define scope and timelines, communicate tradeoffs, and report progress and risks.
