Responsibilities
- Lead the early childhood department, overseeing curriculum implementation, teaching standards, and the overall learning environment for young children.
- Guide and mentor educators, monitor classroom practice, and ensure alignment with developmental best practices.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging setting for learners.
- Collaborate with school leadership on strategic planning.
- Engage families through clear communication.
- Support staff professional development.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and school policies.
- Regularly review program outcomes and implement improvements that enhance student wellbeing and learning progress.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in early childhood education, including knowledge of child development, age appropriate pedagogy, and curriculum design for young learners.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience coaching educators, conducting performance reviews, and building collaborative, high performing teams.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, including experience setting departmental goals, managing schedules, and coordinating resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, families, and senior leadership in a multicultural school environment.
- Commitment to inclusive, non discriminatory practices and safeguarding, with a focus on student wellbeing, safety, and positive behavior support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a closely related field; a relevant master’s degree or equivalent advanced qualification is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a senior early years or preschool leadership role, ideally within international or bilingual schools in the Middle East or similar contexts.
- Familiarity with international early childhood curricula or frameworks (e.g., EYFS, Reggio inspired, inquiry based learning) and willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
