About the Role

- Develop and lead the Ministry's AI strategy in alignment with organizational and national objectives.
- Lead smart transformation initiatives including Generative AI applications and leverage enterprise data assets.
- Ensure AI models are scalable and integrated with existing systems and processes.
- Establish and manage the AI governance framework including policies, standards, and operating models.
- Design and implement AI risk management framework including risk classification, mitigation, and monitoring.
- Oversee evaluation and approval of AI use cases ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with unit and department leaders to enhance AI capabilities and build a data driven culture.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure infrastructure supports AI solutions.
- Monitor performance and impact of AI initiatives and report to leadership.
- Design and implement AI education and capacity building programs for staff.
- Communicate with regulatory bodies and external partners on AI governance and strategy.
- Contribute to annual operational plans and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
Requirements
- PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent (no experience required)
- Master's in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent (3 years experience)
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent (7 years experience)
- Professional certification in AI and Machine Learning (e.g., Google Professional ML Engineer, AWS ML Specialty, Azure AI Engineer Associate)
- Certification in Generative AI and LLMs (e.g., DeepLearning.AI Generative AI Specialization)
- Certification in AI Governance and Ethics (e.g., IAPP AI Governance Professional, ISO 42001 Lead Implementer)
- Certification in Data Science and Advanced Data Analytics (e.g., IBM Data Science Professional, Databricks ML Associate)
- Certification in MLOps (e.g., MLflow MLOps Certified, Kubeflow Practitioner)
- Certification in Project Management or Digital Transformation (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe)
- Certification in Data Management (CDMP)
- Course in AI Strategy and Applications in Government
- Course in AI Ethics and Responsible Use

Job Purpose
- Lead and develop the Ministry's AI strategy and assume enterprise wide responsibility for delivering measurable value through effective utilization of data assets and AI ecosystem, including Generative AI applications.
- Ensure alignment of AI technologies with strategic objectives, drive AI adoption, and ensure compliance with ethical standards and governance requirements.
