Role Purpose
Lead the reception team and manage arrivals and seating.
Balance guest preferences with restaurant capacity and service readiness.
Reporting Structure
The role is in the Front of House department and reports to the Reservations Manager.
The role coordinates with the Restaurant Manager and Floor Supervisor.
The stated location is Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead reception briefings and assign hosting duties.
- Review reservations, expected covers, large parties, VIP arrivals, and special requests.
- Maintain table allocation plans with the floor team.
- Supervise welcome, waiting list, seating, and departure experiences.
- Monitor table readiness and dining progress.
- Coordinate late arrivals, party-size changes, and walk-ins.
- Resolve complaints and escalate exceptions.
- Pass guest requests to the service team before seating.
- Train hostesses in communication, booking-system use, and difficult situations.
- Arrange reception coverage and breaks.
- Maintain accurate guest records and handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Provide end-of-service handovers on no-shows, cancellations, feedback, and unresolved matters.
Experience and Skills
- Two to three years of restaurant hosting experience, including team-leading responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of table planning and busy restaurant service.
- Confident communication, sound judgment, and practical complaint-handling skills.
