Key skills for this role
Ensure a safe work environment for the Maintenance department by enforcing safe work practices, supporting company policies, investigating incidents, and ensuring proper training and adherence to electrical best practices
Work collaboratively with Production, Technical and Purchasing departments to effectively maintain mill equipment
Manage, schedule and supervise a crew, including work orders, priorities, shutdowns, breakdowns
Manage major maintenance projects
Work with reliability engineer(s) to coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Initiate mechanical expense and capital budgets and oversee all maintenance costs
A journey trade certificate
A strong electrical background knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment
Experience in decision making with proven trouble shooting skills
5-8 years of experience is preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Innovative supervisory & mentorship skills
Experience promoting a team culture with well-established organizational skills
Experience in maintenance and a demonstrated passion for electrical systems
Experience in an industrial environmental with PLC’s, VFD’s, MCC’s, and HMI’s
Ability to think outside the box with strong problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office, CMMS systems
Preference may be given to candidates with experience and qualifications in the forest industry
