Position Overview
The Head Chef leads kitchen operations and reports to the Restaurant General Manager or Operations Head.
The role is responsible for food quality, hygiene, food cost control, team productivity, training, manpower management, and compliance with company procedures.
The work location is a restaurant or outlet.
Kitchen Operations
- Own day-to-day kitchen operations and coordinate all kitchen sections during service.
- Ensure food follows company standards, approved recipes, and presentation guidelines.
- Plan mise en place and daily production and conduct regular food tasting for consistency.
- Ensure kitchen SOPs and BOPs are followed consistently.
Menu and Food Planning
- Plan menus for buffets, ODCs, events, and special requirements.
- Prepare production plans based on business volumes and expected covers.
- Coordinate food ordering and ingredient availability.
- Control production quantities, portion sizes, and food wastage.
