Role overview

Thales is seeking an experienced IVV engineer for its Flight Avionics team in Bangalore.

The role covers system integration, verification, and validation of avionics products and equipment.

The scope includes hardware and software system aspects for aircraft, helicopters, and future eVTOL platforms.

Qualifications

  • A B.E., B.Tech, or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering is required.
  • The role requires eight to twelve years of relevant experience in aeronautics.
  • Postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
  • Civil avionics design or military product design experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing IVV plans with the IVV team.
  • Integrate avionics platforms and set up test benches and simulation environments.
  • Design, execute, and analyze tests against specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Document test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure compliance with DO-178C, DO-254, and other aeronautical safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate technical, safety, certification, laboratory, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing contributors.

Required skills

  • Experience in system, hardware, and software IVV activities for critical avionics systems is required.
  • C development skills are required for creating test applications.
  • Knowledge of A429, A818, LVDS, RS-485, Ethernet/A664, and analog interfaces is relevant.
  • Experience with generators, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and other measurement devices is required.
  • Leadership on complex topics and effective multidisciplinary teamwork are required.

  • The role is based with the Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore.
