Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a Health & Safety Officer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The role develops and maintains comprehensive health and safety programs to support a compliant workplace and minimize hazards and incidents.

The officer collaborates across departments to promote a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs compliant with Saudi regulations and international standards.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analyses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings and implement preventive measures.
  • Deliver safety training and induction sessions for new and existing employees.
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and regulatory reports for compliance and audits.
  • Collaborate with management and department heads to ensure safety protocols are understood and followed.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and equipment for compliance with safety standards.
  • Prepare safety performance reports and metrics for senior management.
  • Stay current with applicable health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Coordinate with external safety auditors and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices, including OSHA, ISO 45001, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian workplace safety regulations and labor laws.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in safety data analysis, reporting, Microsoft Office, and safety management software.
  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with safety management systems, audits, and industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments is preferred.

Workplace

  • The role is based on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • New employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
