Gypsum Carpenter – Work Description
A Gypsum Carpenter is responsible for installing gypsum board systems, false ceilings, drywall partitions, and decorative ceiling works as per drawings and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of gypsum board partitions and false ceilings
- Fixing metal framing/channel systems for walls and ceilings
- Reading and understanding shop drawings and site measurements
- Cutting, fixing, and finishing gypsum boards accurately
- Making bulkheads, pelmets, niches, and decorative ceiling designs
- Coordination with MEP services such as AC ducts, lights, and sprinklers
- Joint treatment, taping, and preparation for painting works
- Repair and maintenance of damaged gypsum surfaces
- Ensuring level alignment and quality finishing
- Following site safety procedures and work schedules
Skills Required
- Knowledge of gypsum ceiling and drywall systems
- Ability to use gypsum carpentry tools and equipment
- Experience in measurements and leveling works
- Understanding of construction drawings
- Attention to finishing quality and detail
- Ability to work independently and within deadlines
