The Guest Service Agent provides professional, customer-focused service and supports front office operations.
The role includes guest reception, cashiering, room sales, guest privacy, and coordination with hotel departments.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome guests and complete check-in and check-out procedures according to established standards.
- Sell rooms to walk-in guests and handle day-to-day facilities issues.
- Manage cash inventory, cheques, and foreign-currency bills of exchange according to credit policy.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Finance, Reservations, and other departments.
- Keep the Guest Service Desk staffed, operationally ready, and stocked.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain knowledge of hotel policies, facilities, and happenings.
Education and experience
- A hospitality degree is ideally preferred.
- Previous hotel Front Office experience is required.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential.
- An additional language, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving ability are essential.
- Computer literacy is expected, while Opera experience is an advantage.
Knowledge and competencies
- The candidate should be customer-driven, proactive, outgoing, approachable, and able to work under pressure.
- Competencies include customer focus, adaptability, teamwork, responsibility, and recognizing differences.
