As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Digital Engineering leader to lead our Victorian Digital Engineering team while also providing BIM leadership across major water infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Water Business Leader – Victoria, this dual-role position combines people leadership, business growth, project delivery, and technical digital leadership.
You will lead and develop a high-performing team of Digital Engineering professionals while acting as the primary BIM leader for major multidisciplinary water projects.
You will work closely with project managers, design managers, discipline leaders, and digital practice leaders to drive excellence in digital delivery, BIM implementation, innovation, and project outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the future direction of digital engineering within one of Australia's leading water businesses.
The Group Leader position is a function, in addition to an employee’s substantive technical/project contribution role, as detailed below.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
· Supporting the Business Leader in driving both short- and long ‑ term Water AU strategy initiatives while fostering a collaborative, success ‑ oriented, inclusive culture that promotes engagement, alignment with core values, and balanced influence across teams.
· Lead, mentor and develop a team of Digital Engineering professionals across Victoria.
· Manage team utilisation, resourcing and workforce planning to meet current and future project demands.
· Support recruitment and onboarding initiatives to strengthen team capability.

· Act as BIM Manager and Digital Lead on major water infrastructure projects.
· Develop and implement, BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Information Delivery Plans and project digital delivery strategies.
· Lead multidisciplinary model coordination and federated model reviews.
· Establish BIM workflows, model governance and quality assurance processes.
· Ensure compliance with Stantec/client digital requirements and ISO 19650 principles.
· Drive adoption of digital engineering best practice, standards and innovation.
· Manage Common Data Environments including Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)), ProjectWise and other digital platforms.
· Facilitate stakeholder workshops, model reviews and design coordination sessions.
· Mentor and coach engineers, designers and BIM coordinators in digital workflows and delivery excellence.
· Support client relationship development and market growth initiatives.
· Contribute to proposals, tenders and digital delivery strategies.
· Assist project pursuits by articulating digital value propositions and innovative delivery approaches.
· Participate in projects as a Digital Lead / BIM Manager or other technical leadership role.
· Assist with project planning, budgeting, resource forecasting and delivery management.
You are an experienced Digital Engineering professional who combines strong technical BIM capability with excellent people leadership and business acumen.
· Minimum 10 years' experience in Digital Engineering, BIM, design delivery, or infrastructure consulting.
· Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring technical teams.
· Strong understanding and practical application of BIM management principles and ISO 19650.
· Proven experience delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
· Experience developing and managing Digital Execution Plans and associated digital engineering deliverables.
· Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
· Experience leading model coordination and federated model review processes.
· Knowledge of Common Data Environments such as Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)), ProjectWise or equivalent.
· Strong commercial awareness and ability to support project delivery performance.
· Ability to influence, inspire and build high-performing teams.
· Water infrastructure experience including pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, dams or major conveyance systems.
· Experience with Autodesk platforms including Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, InfraWorks and Forma.
· Experience with Revizto and model-based collaboration workflows.
· Understanding of digital asset information requirements and handover processes.
· Experience implementing BIM standards, governance frameworks and digital transformation initiatives.
