Maintenance Technician School Production
Opal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Groundskeeper/ Utility Maintenance Technician for our School Farm in Neosho, MO . This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations including safety, bio-security and animal welfare requirements. This position will work in the bird houses and must be able to work in a live animal/farm environment. This position will also assist the Pullet Manager with other projects and duties as needed.
Position Responsibilities
- Keep equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment such as electric motors, pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems
- Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of production machinery and equipment
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties
- Use front end loader to move litter
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Upkeep of grounds-weed eating, mowing, trash, spraying weeds
- Maintaining truck disinfection stations or hand pumps
- Maintaining roads
- Keep feed pads clear of feed
- Preventive maintenance on all outside equipment-feed bins, incline belts, cool cells,
- Staying on top of bird control
- Staying on top of outside bait stations
- Staying on top of snow boards repairs-Coulter and Iowa Falls
