Role Overview
Work directly with the Founder to build the first data and AI foundations of the DEF football and futsal ecosystem.
Connect sports data, academy operations, and digital learning through shared architecture and longitudinal player profiles.
The program covers computer vision, sports analytics, data science, AI, business intelligence, and digital transformation.
Computer Vision and Sports Analytics
- Benchmark, test, and integrate existing computer vision solutions for football and futsal.
- Automate player and ball tracking and event extraction from video.
- Design development KPIs covering creativity, initiative, dribbling, one-versus-one play, and decision-making.
- Evaluate market technologies and prioritize integration where it is more efficient than in-house development.
AI and Personalization
- Transform player data into insights, reports, and personalized recommendations.
- Explore models for recommending exercises and learning content.
- Progressively connect Performance Intelligence with the DEF Digital Academy.
Data Architecture and Transformation
- Collect, clean, structure, and connect multiple data sources and build a centralized player database with multi-season tracking models.
- Assess APIs and contribute to technology integrations, data ownership, security, storage, and UAE/GCC data residency requirements.
- Digitize schedules, coach management, inventory, invoicing, payments, finance, CRM, and administrative workflows.
Dashboards and Business Intelligence
- Build dashboards for players, coaches, parents, and management.
- Track attendance, capacity utilization, retention, revenue, costs, profitability, and venue utilization.
- Automate sports performance, operational, and financial reporting.
Required Candidate Profile
- Recent graduate or final-year Master's student in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
- Python, SQL, Pandas, NumPy, and solid machine learning fundamentals.
- Ability to structure and analyze data with autonomy, curiosity, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Nice to Have
- OpenCV, YOLO, PyTorch or TensorFlow, Power BI or Tableau, Git, APIs, and cloud experience.
- LLMs or generative AI, workflow automation, and data engineering fundamentals.
- Passion for or good understanding of football or futsal.
Internship Details
- Paid six-month internship based in Dubai.
- Potential opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and project development.
