Job Summary
- This position will see patients at Madison UW Health Clinics and provide clinical teaching for learners in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
- May include patient care duties at UW Regional Services Clinics.
- Clinical research and/or academic service is also expected.
- Candidate has option of combining glaucoma clinical care with comprehensive ophthalmology or other sub specialty eye care.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Provide high quality patient care at UW Health Madison and potentially Regional Services Clinics in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, including medical and surgical care.
- Participate in resident/medical student/fellowship education in the clinic and in the operating room.
- Develop a program of scholarly activity in one or more of the following: clinical and/or translation research; education/teaching; institutional leadership.
- Perform administrative duties as appropriate.
- Participate in professional, public and university service as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- WI Medical license, or eligible for WI Medical license by start of position.
- Completion of US Ophthalmology Accredited Residency Program and Fellowship by start of the position.
- Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology by start of position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in conducting research, clinical care, and teaching.
- For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in SMPH guidelines.
