GLASS CUTTER / POLISHER

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and cut glass according to drawings, measurements, and cutting lists.
• Handle different glass types and thicknesses safely and carefully.
• Perform straight cutting, shaping, notching, holes, cut-outs, and other processing work.
• Operate glass cutting, edging, polishing, drilling, and grinding machines.
• Polish edges to required finishes, including flat polish and arris.
• Inspect dimensions, quality, edges, and workmanship before dispatch or installation.
• Identify and report defects, cracks, scratches, and dimensional issues.
• Handle, store, mark, and move glass within the workshop.
• Prepare glass for shower enclosures, mirrors, balustrades, doors, partitions, windows, and other architectural applications.
• Follow production instructions, minimize wastage, maintain equipment, and meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in glass cutting and polishing, preferably in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of architectural and construction glass.
• Experience with glass cutting and polishing machinery.
• Ability to read basic drawings, measurements, and cutting lists.
• Knowledge of glass sizes, thicknesses, types, and processing requirements.
• Understanding of glass handling and workshop safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of handling glass safely.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Preferred experience includes clear, tinted, tempered, laminated, Low-E, DGU glass, and mirrors.
• Preferred experience includes glass drilling, cut-outs, edge grinding, and polishing.
• Preferred experience includes shower glass, balustrade glass, glass doors, and partitions.
• Key skills include accuracy, measurement, quality control, drawing reading, safe glass handling, and teamwork.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 1,500–AED 2,500 per month.

Workplace

• Work location is in person.
