Graduate program

GHD is recruiting emerging talent for its 2026/27 Graduate Development Program.

The program includes opportunities in Hobart and regional Tasmania for February and July 2027 cohorts.

Disciplines include civil engineering, electrical engineering, project management, and environmental and earth sciences.

Program experience

  • Work in design teams to help deliver consulting projects.
  • Contribute to bids and tenders.
  • Participate in occasional site work.
  • Build consulting fundamentals during the first year.
  • Shape technical development with managers and mentors during the second year.

Who can apply

  • Applicants may be recent graduates, final-year students, or students completing their degree by mid-2027.
  • Applicants should have an academic background in one of the listed disciplines.
  • Applications require a CV, cover letter, and academic transcript.

Selection process

  • Applications are reviewed as they are received, with most screening occurring after applications close.
  • Successful applicants complete virtual assessments with recorded answers and cognitive games.
  • Successful candidates meet the prospective team for a face-to-face interview where possible.
  • The application is expected to take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Development and community

  • The two-year program provides support from peers, managers, and mentors.
  • GHD supports community impact through pro-bono projects, volunteering, fundraising, and employee networks.
